Amount spent by Coal India Ltd. and its subsidiaries each year on buying Ammonium Nitrate based explosives for its 350+ mines across India. The Ammonium Nitrate suppliers include Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company (GNFC), Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCFL), National Fertilizer Limited (NFL) and STL Fertilisers. The explosives are used for blasting topsoil to produce coal.
