Rajasthan signs UDAY MoU, 3rd State to join scheme

    The Government of India, the State of Rajasthan and the DISCOMs of Rajasthan (Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the Scheme UDAY – “Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana” today.
  • Rs. 80,500 crore
    outstanding debt of CSPDCL as on 30 September 2015.
  • Rs. 60,375 crore
    amount of debt (75%) owed by both DISCOMs now passed over to the state of Rajasthan.
  • Rs. 20,125 crore
    or 25% of CSPDCL's debt will now be repaid with fresh State guaranteed DISCOM bonds to be issued at coupon rates around 3% less than the average existing interest rate.
  • Rs. 3,000 crore
    Savings for the Rajasthan DISCOMs in annual interest cost through reduction of debt and through reduced interest rates on the balance debt.
  • Rs. 7,300 crore
    The estimated additional revenues till FY 19 to accrue through reduction in AT&C losses and transmission losses.
  • Rs. 2,000 crore
    The gain expected till FY 19 through Demand Side interventions such as usage of energy- efficient LED bulbs, fans & air-conditioners and efficient industrial equipment through PAT (Perform, Achieve, Trade) which would help in reducing peak load, flatten load curve and thus help in reducing energy consumption in the State of Rajasthan.

    Gain through coal reforms, such as availability of 100% washed coal.
  • Rs. 15,300 crore
    Estimated overall benefit.
  • 30,00,000
    households in 396 villages that are still without electricity will now have an expedited opportunity to be electrified through the scheme.
