IDBI Bank CSR initiative enables 5,000 homes access to clean energy

    Year that IDBI partnered with Lighting a Billion Lives (LaBL) to support the provision of clean lighting and cooking solutions to un-electrified and remotely located villages in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha.

    households across 111 villages in these states now have a cleaner and more efficient mode of lighting and cooking with the completion of the project.

    types of technology have been installed under this project, based on local need assessments and consumption patterns. These incude: solar charging stations, solar micro grids and standalone integrated domestic energy systems.

    homes in Dongria - a tribal settlement of Odisha, in an area of densely forested hills, deep gorges and cascading streams - now get power supply for lighting from a centrally installed solar micro grid. Installed with support from local NGO partner Mahashakti Foundation.
