Matunga will be city’s first solar-powered railway station

    railway station in the Mumbai region to get its electricity from solar power. That credit will go to Matunga Road Railway Station on Mumbai's Western Railway corridor, according to Ravinder Bhakar, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Western Railway (WR).

    or units of electricity is the monthly usage of the station which is expected to be met by this installation. The project will be funded by the Asset Reconstruction Company, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
