Andhra Pradesh signs UDAY MoU, 13th State to join scheme

    The Government of India, the State of Andhra Pradesh and the DISCOMs of Andhra Pradesh (APSPDCL and APEPDCL) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the Scheme UDAY – “Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana” today.

    outstanding debt of the discoms as on 30 September 2015.

    discom debt is NIL, the two AP discoms being the more efficient ones in the country.

    Savings for the DISCOMs in annual interest cost through reduction of debt and through reduced interest rates on the balance debt.

    The estimated additional revenues till FY 19 to accrue through reduction in AT&C losses and transmission losses.
  • Rs. 882 crore
    The gain expected till FY 19 through Demand Side interventions such as usage of energy- efficient LED bulbs, fans & air-conditioners and efficient industrial equipment through PAT (Perform, Achieve, Trade) which would help in reducing peak load, flatten load curve and thus help in reducing energy consumption in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
