Puducherry signs UDAY MoU, 1st Union Territory to join scheme

    The Government of India, and the Union Territory of Puducherry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under the Scheme UDAY – “Ujwal DISCOM Assurance Yojana” today for operational turnaround of the Union Territory’s Electricity Department.

    The estimated additional revenues till FY 19 to accrue through reduction in AT&C losses and transmission losses.

    The gain expected till FY 19 through Demand Side interventions such as usage of energy- efficient LED bulbs, fans & air-conditioners and efficient industrial equipment.

    gain through coal reforms, such as availability of 100% washed coal.

    households that are still without electricity will now have an expedited opportunity to be electrified through the scheme.
