City completes first full organics collection

    since Bendigo residents have utilised the new organics service. The first full collection has been completed and results indicate a high percentage of residents putting out their new organics bin for collection.
  • 650 tonnes
    + of organic food and garden waste has been saved from landfill following this first full collection from over 40,000 households in Bendigo and Marong. This can now be turned into high quality compost, a great outcome for the landfill and the environment.
  • 3,500
    households have applied for an exemption from the new organics service and the council is continuing to work through the exemption process.
