Pilot plant based on Concentrator Photovoltaic power generation starts operation in Morocco

solar power plant based on Concentration Photovoltaic (CPV) technology was unveiled on 10 Nov 2016. The plant located at Noor Power Station in Ouarzazate was built by Sumitomo Electric in collaboration with Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN).

conversion efficiency of the Concentration Photovoltaic panels compared with existing technology that converts only 10 to 15 percent.

capacity power plant is planned to be developed based on the performance of this newly established power station. The two companies could also set up a base for manufacturing Moroccan-made Concentration Photovoltaic panels in future.
