Solar Home System pilot project launched in Sierra Leone

    families will be part of a solar home system pilot project that will help the Sierra Leone financial sector build a better understanding of the business opportunities presented by the emerging solar market unlock significant commercial capital to support the Sierra Leone Energy Revolution goal of achieving modern energy for all by 2025.

    solar home systems will be financed by the Sierra Leone Association for Microfinance Institutions (SLAMFI). The systems will be made available to suitable customers who can purchase them against loans from MFIs.

    micro-finance institutions (MFIs), selected by SLAMFI, will make payments against the loan.

    renewable companies will be invited to take part in the pilot - they will be selected by the Renewable Energy Association of Sierra Leone (REASL).
