Energy Efficiency scheme launched in West Bengal

    Date of launch of the scheme by Babul Supriyo, Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprise GoI. at the Bardhman Sansad Mela. Under this scheme, efficient LED bulbs, tube lights and fans will be distributed in the state by EESL. The planned numbers are:
  • 5.4 lakh
    domestic 9W LED bulbs at a discounted price of Rs. 70 against market price of Rs 350.
  • 50 lakh
    fans at a subsidised price of Rs. 1,150.
  • 1 crore
    tubelights at a subsidised price of Rs. 230.

    + residents across the state to benefit. The state is likely to save Rs. 100 crore each year through these efficiency measures.
