Energy Efficiency scheme in Chandigarh gets the nod

    Date of approval of the implementation of the UJALA scheme by Chandigarh's administrator V P Singh Badnore, which is to be launched from next month. Under this scheme, efficient LED bulbs, tube lights and fans will be distributed in the state by EESL. The planned numbers are:
  • 8.64 lakh
    domestic 9W LED bulbs at a discounted price of Rs. 60 against market price of Rs 150.
  • 2.16 lakh
    fans at a subsidised price of Rs. 1,150 (market price Rs. 1,800).
  • 4.32 lakh
    tubelights at a subsidised price of Rs. 230 (market price Rs. 800).
  • 1.75 lakh
    + households across the state to benefit. Each household can avail a total of 4 LED bulbs (9 Watt), 2 LED tubes (10 Watt) and 1 fan (50 Watt).
