Winters Flat Primary School's sustainability initiatives wins award

    Winters Flat Primary School won the Victoria Premier’s Sustainability the education category. The school received the award for sustainability initiatives students undertook to reduce waste, water and energy consumption. Outcomes include:

    Water saved over a period of 12 months (in 2015).

    Percentage reduction in energy consumption - from 56,023kwh in 2014 to 42,893kwh in 2015.

    Point increase in their habitat score - from 42 in 2014 to 55 in 2015. The school has also increased its biodiversity by working with their local council on waste projects, planting a Bird Scope and Bush Tucker garden, along with many other sustainable initiatives.
