ADB loan to finance energy efficiency initiatives in India

    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India today signed a loan that will finance multiple energy efficiency projects that will be implemented by Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL).
  • $200 million
    Loan from ADB’s ordinary capital resources (OCR) and will have a 20-year term, including a grace period of 5 years, at an annual interest rate determined in accordance with ADB’s London interbank offered rate (LIBOR)-based lending facility. The loan will help install:
  • 42 million
    LED household bulbs.
  • 1.5 million
    LED street lights.
  • 225,000
    efficient agri pumps.
