Power companies in Spain looking to phase out coal

Combined generation capacity of Endesa's coal plants in Spain that it expects to retire by 2020. These include the Compostilla and Teruel power stations each with capacity of 1,100 MW.
Capacity of 2 remaining coal plants operated by Iberdrola that it intends to close by an as yet undecided date. The company has requested consent from Spain's Ministry of Energy to decommission the thermal power plants of Lada and Velilla.
