With two phases (600 MW) completed, it would now move towards building 1320 MW (2x660 MW) capacity in the third phase.

The total capacity is proposed to be built in in 2 phases each of 1350 MW with each phase comprising of 5 units each of 270 MW. All 5 Units of Phase 1 have been commissioned.

    RKM Powergen's (4 x 350 MW) Uchpinda Thermal Power Plant located in Dabar Taluk in Janjgir –Champa district of Chhattisgarh has an outstanding debt of Rs. 9,145 crore. 3 units have been commissioned, while the 4th unit is under construction.

    Vandana Vidyut's (4 x 135 MW) Salora Thermal Power Plant at Salora village in Korba district of Chhattisgarh has an outstanding debt of Rs. 1,488 crore. Unit 1 commissioned, Unit 2 stalled, Units 3 and 4 appear to be cancelled.

    Visa Power Limited's (2x600 MW) Deveri Thermal Power Plant in Deveri and Dumarpali villages, Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh has an outstanding debt of Rs. 1,481 crore. Construction of unit 1 is stalled due to financial constraints. The project was allotted 99.12 million tonne (mt) of coal from the Fatehpur East coal block in Chhattisgarh. However, the project ran into rough weather due to cancellation of the coal block, the main resource based on which the thermal power project was conceived.

Stage -I of MTPS having two unit of 110 MW is under operation while Stage-II having capacity of 2X195 MW is at advance stage of completion.

    Adani Group's (5x660 MW) Tiroda Thermal Power Station located at Tirora in Gondia district, Maharashtra has an outstanding debt of Rs. 11,665 crore. The plant achieved full capacity with the commissioning of Unit V on 11th October 2014.
