BMC has been supplying the same quantity of water even during the COVID-19 lockdown indicating increased usage for domestic and residential purposes in light of increased personal hygiene practices as well as added stay-at-home demands - from running tap water to wash germs off fruits and vegetables to continuous rinsing of hands with soap followed by several rounds of bathing, laundry, cooking and cleaning - had perhaps led to increased water usage and subsequent depletion.

    Mid Day reports BMC considering a 10% - 15% cut soon. A BMC official told Mid Day, "It is not raining around the dams. We cannot rely on the current water stock. The proposal of water cut is in process at the Hydraulic Department level and will be sent for consideration to higher authorities."
