Amount Amazon paid for its acquisition of Whole Foods, a posh grocer, a deal which has alarmed American retailers. In announcing the deal’s closure on 28 Aug 2017 , Amazon said it would cut Whole Foods’ prices, offer special savings and in-store benefits for members of its Prime programme and make Whole Foods’ private-label goods available on Amazon itself.
