Japan’s support to India’s Water and Sanitation sector through Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans ) for various projects in Maharashtra, Assam, Odisha, Goa, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka amongst other states. These loans are provided by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) which has been established, by a specific law, as an independent administrative institution under the Government of Japan to contribute to the promotion of international cooperation.
