Alphonso mangoes lying unsold in Maharashtra/Gujarat due to COVID-19 lockdown. Alphonso export season has started with no export orders. With 40% of mango crop being produced for export, the lack of transport & forward linkages will hurt. Nearly 1 lakh boxes come to the market each day. Similarly, Totapari mangoes from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are not finding buyers.
