Even as the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) put forth this number, it has been disputed by Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg who said the ACF's analysis was not credible.

companies signed an open letter to parliamentarians to halt plans to cut $1.3bn from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency. These include some of Australia’s best-known energy companies including AGL, GE and Tesla. The letter was released by the Clean Energy Council.
