BHEL has successfully commissioned the first of 4 coal-fired thermal power plant of this capacity in Bihar, India. The unit is part of the upcoming, greenfield 1000 MW Nabinagar thermal power project (4 x 250 MW), being set up by Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Co. Ltd (BRBCL), a joint venture of NTPC Ltd and the Indian Railways.
